Waitress
Waitress...a movie that didn't deserve more than a 20% tip. It was decent. It teetered along artsy and cheesy. If this was Adrienne Shelly's first, second, or third movie, it's a really good film. And I would see her other movies. Felicity done good as an actress, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I was so annoyed by the uber submissive wife character. Oh jeez, Jeremy Sisto character Earl?! Very convincing as a needy, controlling, pussy of a human piece of garbage. It's funny to think that he's played Jesus in a TV movie.
The First Noel was annoyed by the pies. It was a total chick flick. At the end of the previews we were 1 of 10 hetero-girl couples at the theatre. Seriously, there was no point in changing clothes. We should have just kept pajamas on. And we noticed the one guy in the theatre. Probably on a date. Or a new boyfriend. You can still sucker those newbies to movies like this.

Memorial Day
Homey and I played tennis on Friday. We didn't play-play tennis. We hit balls. Had pretty lots of good rallys. No balls flew out of the court. A majority of balls ended up at the net...meaning they were low and in. Is my forearm supposed to be sore after 2 days? I can't pluck my eyebrows yet.

I wonder what the sweat shops for Forever 21 looks like. Making knock offs for dozens of stores is busy work. So please excuse them for loose threads and the reality that the item won't make it past 2 trips to the washing machine.

$29?
Are they REALLY asking for $29? What a rip off. You might as well get the Bose In-ear Headphones for $99. I'm shocked the earphones that originally came with my iPod worked as long as they have thus far. The left ear is not producing sound. For a few seconds, I thought I was deaf in that ear. During the winter, it was so cold out that the flexy material of the headphones wouldn't bend while outside. Took as much time to defrost when back in doors as me.

Shiver in May
I think this is what you do when you live with extreme temps...one talks about the weather.
I have heart burn. I had it before eating at Peace on North Ave tonight. I eat at Peace even if they are Rachael Ray fans. I hate her. EVOO? Fuck You. Shut up. It's a S-A-N-D-W-I-C-H.
(Actually, I am not pasty...1) I'm Filipino - we're not light 2) I experienced 2 out of the 3 lifetime total of sunburns in Sydney in January 3) My tan got touched up in Hawaii in March)...
Sounds painful.

Flannel Pajamas
I do not, DO NOT recommend Flannel Pajama unless you want to be like "wha? HIPPA violation, wait what? you're in love, um you're peeing in the tub, uhh that's a lot of full frontal nudity!?#" I normally like raw, dialogue driven shit. And I do admit that there were maybe 2 instances in the movie when Nicole said something I've said before. But this wasn't good. The guy who played Stuart (Justin Kirk) is a really good actor, but I kept waiting for him to come out in drag like in Angels in America. Flannel Pajamas might have even gone direct to video. If I had a match, I'd set them on fire.
You can't go wrong with Entourage...even if you meant to get season 1 but picked up season 2.

Shortage
"Even “300,” the abs-and-sandals fanboy’s favorite, enhanced the role of the Spartan queen, Gorgo, to boost the movie’s appeal to women."
I would think a woman would want to see this movie. It's got Rodrigo Santoro...he was in Love Actually, a movie that appeals to women. Ergo, 300 is a total date movie.

Goodfellas
On my way to work this morning, I walked past American Dog or whatever it's called off Lincoln and Belden. The Turano bread people left a bunch of hot dog buns on the sidewalk against the building. It was raining so the buns were covered. Anyway, I kept turning around to see if Henry Hill, Jimmy Conway, and Tommy DeVito were getting ready to run off the the buns.

When you think the night is over, it's not. I met up with the First Noel last night. Very good time in such a small amount of time. Stumbled a bit when I got home. That's putting in nicely. Sigh. Had to be at work in the AM. So tonight, I'm going to read my Black Swan Green Book, watching a few more trailers on iTunes, and crashing. Good luck and good night.

Grindhouse
Anyway, I love the double feature, trailers, etc. I liked Planet Terror a little more. I loved how people were so matter-of-fact about bubbling faces and monsters eating you. (Like in Being John Malkovich) Why does Quentin insist on playing the "rapist" who's dick melts off! He was a freak in From Dusk til Dawn too. Rose McGowen's leg and it's multiple "outfits" - very funny! I'm going as Naveen Andrew's character for Halloween this year.
Death Proof is an awesome movie with a fake start. Made me miss Austin and Guerro's!

Unborn Twin
It took some time to find a book I could get into. Been a literary black hole since reading The Namesake and The Interpreter of Maladies. I found this at Barnes and Noble. Can't stand chick books.
This one stood out. First time reading anything by David Mitchell. (I seem to like British male writers...oh, Nick Hornby) Jason, the voice of the book, has these voices in his head that guides his 13 year old whims and thoughts. One I crack up at and told Erin about on the lift yesterday: Unborn Twin. Ha! Cracks me up.

Exhausted. I'm hoping to sleep soon. Really soon. Good solid rest.
Saturday night, I went out with a group of friends and new acquaintances for dinner and then drinks at a place called Danny's on Dickens just off Damen. I think this my favorite bar in Chicago. Webster's is my favorite wine bar. Danny's is like a house party with a DJ and chill music. Very chill music. When I left at 1AM, I felt ready for bed. Only when I got in bed, I never fell asleep. Would have been ok...typical of my functioning insomniac status. However, Sunday...today was the Shamrock Shuffle.
Oh the Shamrock Shuffle, 80's style. I will post the pictures up as soon as I get them from Mr. Debbi Gibson. Running with a sweatshirt a la Flashdance was not easy. It was way warmer than I anticipated. Also, I over cut the neck line so the damn thing was falling off and I had the ugliest pair of 80's sunglasses and they were RED. It was fun running with the aerobics crew. Very good time. The bloody mary and sitting under the sun and Brown Line/Red Line at Kelly's would have been perfect if I could had put on my black Havainas on. Who cares, the weather was perfect

Aa group partially comprised of the people I trained with for last year's marathon have decided to dress up 80's style. Like Jane Fonda. It's the insomnia-stared at the window until 4am. So much fun!
Anyway, it was fun last night at the Metro. Saw Bent Moustache, really liked You Am I. Tim Rogers is delicious. Sebadoh should have stayed in the early 90's. The Scottish guitarist of Bent Moustache is a looker in person. Not so much on stage. I couldn't help but flirt with him as he waited for people to buy their band merch. Oh well, on to another midwest city. How exciting. Weiner Circle afterward. Typical Chicago activities I suppose. You want fries with that, beyatch!?

Crank
I finished watching Crank with Jason Statham this morning. It was somthing suggested on Netflix, what the hell?! It's really bad so it's funny. Snickers and snorts. There are worst movies out there. My opinion is a wee bit skewed because I think this man is hot and was great in Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking Barrels as well as The Italian Job.

Fall Out Boy
First of all, I totally dig the Fall Out Boy album Infinity on High. The titles on the song are clever.
For example:
1. I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) - With the title scrolling across my iPod, I don't think I've ever pieced this one together.
2. The Carpal Tunnel of Love
3. You're Crashing, But You're No Wave
4. I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears and None On My Fingers
Earlier tonight, I talked to my Dad on the phone and told him all that I had to drink yesterday. He was both proud and I think needed to sit down. It wasn't the time we started that got him...10am...it's 5pm somewhere. It's the mini pitcher of beer and the multiple Irish Car Bombs and Jaeger Bombs. It never gets tiring. I'm still a 16 yr old trying to shock her father.
Now I know why the Shamrock Shuffle is NOT the same weekend as St. Patrick's Day.

Drunk
I have to warn you that I'm wasted right now. Got up at 8, took a shower, went to Starbucks, then went to Matt's apt for green eggs, ham, and irish car bombs. THE rest is a haze. I'm wasted right now. Pretty horrible. I have to work tomorrow. I'm wasted, did i tell you?
Had the weirdest experience on Lincoln St with this dumb ass white chick. First she asked me if I were asian. Ok, yes. then she was like, "I didint knwo asians celebrate st. patricks day." ok you racist bitch, I'm CATHOLIC! WTF?! THEN SHE proceded to tell me about the people who converted me. WEIRD WEIRD and WEIRD. Whatever you dumb bitch. Go primp and drive your freakin Jetta,
Anyway, I had fun,

I can't believe that Kumar (Kal Penn) is playing Gogul in movie The Namesake. I loved this book. Depressing like hell but so good nonetheless. It's hard not to wait for Kal Penn to dance with a bag of weed.
