Um, I love this place. I can totally be a waitress and make just enough money to bum around all the beaches. Once upon a time, I said my toes looked like mini-twixes (post europe travel 2000). Today, it's appropriate to call them Tim Tams (http://www.arnotts.com.au/products/TimTam.aspx). The Sydney Children's Hospital is by Coogee Beach. I can be a peds nurse here too. So tempting...I think I'll defer grad school and move here for 6 months after the Chicago Marathon. I'm serious. Anyone else who wants to go, LB and I are planning on it.

I like being disconnect from work, chicago, the world. Probably b/c I'm having fun with my work mates. Don't know what's going on in the real world. No cell phone is ok too. Thank goodness for email and internet cafes. I need to check the email to get my daily bank balance.

I'm still feelin a little rocky from the yacht trip around Sydney Harbour. Found out I'm afraid of swimming in places I can't touch the ground. The "captain" let me use the rescue float while I swam around the boat. Funniest thing I heard yesterday on the boat:

"You take pictures of your sandwich but you don't have your camera out here?!"

Oh man, it's so pretty here.  We just ate breaky at a cafe in Bondi Junction.  Last night we had dinner at some place you can see all the boats, the bridge, the Harbour.  I think I'm officially sunburned.  My chest and some of my neck/shoulder are red.  SPF 55 is on.  Peace out yo.

greetings from the land down under.  was a long long flight.  saw oprah's boyfriend stedman on our flight to LA.  he didn't offer to pay for our $9 burritos at LAX so we opted for McD.  Sprawled out and swam in Bondi Beach.  Lovely weather.  Can't complain about anything.  QUite the opposite.  I've taken advantage of my 2 gig memory card and have been snapping pictures away.  I just ate a milo candy bar and a cadbury flake hybrid bar.  While I ogled at a hot local, i had these bags of goodies in my hand.  I know why we american's are "juicy" aka not thin.

My patients mom today got the bug that her kid has and is admitted for.  Holy shit.  Holy shit.  I hope I don't get this shit/puke bug.  I'm like alcohol swabbing EVERYTHING.  I just want to go home, shower, and decontaminate.

I'm trying not to empty the spam folder for my gmail account. Want to watch it grow and see how large is LARGE. It's at 295 and emptied last around 2 weeks ago.

Last minute crap

Crap. I love that word. You don't have to get into any details when
someone asks, "What are you doing?." You say, "Just last minute
crap."

That's what I'm doing today and tomorrow, last minute crap.

* Laundry - pile of crap on my bedroom floor

* Call bank/credit card company - prevent the "oh crap. oh fuck"
moment when you find out your credit card is listed as stollen b/c you
live in chicago and some wanker (me) is using your mastercard in
sydney.

* Return your cable modem to some facility not so near by - Allows you
a few more bucks a month to be spent on crap

* Exchange a 2 gig memory card for my camera - Crap USA sold me the
wrong size card...fuck!!!

so we (travelling girls) were talking about what we have to bring back for the nurses who made schedule switches so we could go on this sydney trip.  the most annoying thing we can do is to take a picture of the 3 of us at the beach, make a tshirt with the picture blown up on the front and back...and give that to them.

My apologies for being so lame and not really writing much lately. I've been busy getting ready for the trip and turbo-applying to grad school. Shit, I hope I finish everything before I go. I just want to go. My suitcase has been this abstract art fixture on my bedroom floor.
