NYTimes: For the Dishwasher’s Sake, Go Easy on the Detergent

From The New York Times:

SHORTCUTS: For the Dishwasher's Sake, Go Easy on the Detergent

Go easy on the detergent in dishwashers and washing machines, and never clean your oven the day before Thanksgiving.

Hi ineed to ask you something. Why did you repost this article? What was the inspiration for it. It's an old article and it's not on top of the most emailed article lists. I write a blog about the most emailed articles of the ny times and I'm desperate to find out anything I can as to why this article is popular right now. I really hope you can help.
Many thanks.

This is what I responded to Owell D. Arrhe today:

Hey this is sweetyellowcorn. Did you see the rest of my blog? It's about nothing. I lean toward commenting on Austin, Texas, Texas in general, the University of Texas and stupid stuff that I see as a resident of Chicago. I repost the most unimportant things I skim on the news sites.

This one was interesting b/c i just got a new washer and dryer. Also, my boyfriend and I have conflicting ways of loading the dishwasher - fork down v.s. fork up. Nothing earth shattering.

If you want to investigate another NY Times top emailed/read etc article, check out this one on a mac & cheese recipe: http://www.slate.com/id/2134290/?nav=tap3. I made it in 2007 and it sucked.
