The Dram Shop

There's a hidden bar on Broadway that sandwiched between Stella's Diner and a taqueria. Outside, you can find a large dog bowl filled with ice water, in the warmer months, and year round, you can see a statue of an elderly woman at the door. Total hole. Smells like old cigars and broken dreams.

Anyway, it's a great place to go when you're just off the night shift. Bar opens at 7:00AM. Six of us were there by 8AM. A 72 year old man and his toothless girlfriend run the place. The girlfriend seriously got a little sad when she was in a picture taking a shot with the Birthday Gil/Nurse...due to not having her teeth in. When the bartender was nice enough to buy us a drink, his girlfriend asked if i wanted another "Malibu and Vodka." I really had a Malibu and OJ...So she gave me one of those...

This is THE place for strong drinks. No kidding.

On the cheesy wall is a framed photo montage of nurses from our floor in the past. Our faces could be the newest thing in the building.
